On October 24th last, as we will all remember for years to come, Dublin had 90mm of rain, the previous historical record being 48mm.
That night, a seven foot wall of water hit Dundrum Town Centre, the resultant flood rolling down the Spanish steps at Harvey Nichols and into the scene dock and dressing rooms of the theatre, through the ceilings and walls. The green room which had been decorated just ten weeks earlier was destroyed.
On the 18th of Feb, The Mill Theatre held a fundraising benefit night to raise funds to fully renovate all areas affected and restore them to their previous comfort. The show was sold out, and featured talent like Joe Conlon, Eoin Cannon, Alison Vard Miller and many more special guests. AMP Sound Systems was proud to provide equipment and a sound engineer for the event.

The crew at AMP Sound Systems recently had the pleasure of being behind the desk for one of Ireland’s best rock voices – Andrew Mann. The hard-working vocalist is bringing producer Greg French’s “Here I Am” to the Eurosong 2012 competition, with the aim of taking it all the way to the Eurovision and coming home with another win for Ireland.
The song (which is available now on iTunes) has been on repeat in the warehouse for the past few days, and we will do anything we can to support this Irish artist on his journey to Azerbaijan and beyond. AMP Sound Systems continues it’s rapid expansion with the appointment of a new full time Account Executive – Brian Aston. Brian has been a valuable member of the AMP Sound team as a rigger and crew member for the past few years, and this knowledge of our equipment and dedication to customers makes him the perfect candidate to work closely with you to ensure all events go smoothly.
Brian will be taking care of all aspects of the small event sector, specifically catering for weddings, bands and various dry hire. Over the next few weeks, a series of new PA system packages will be released, giving great value for your events. AMP Sound Systems had the pleasure of providing the PA system for TKO‘s performance at the Arklow Seabreeze Festival. Luckily the heavy rain held off for the gig and everyone stayed relatively dry!
