No shows – so he jumps out of a plane for charity instead!

AMP Sound Systems lead engineer Eoin O’Grady is taking a leap from an airplane at 10,000 feet and will be hurtling towards the ground at 200 kilometers per hour all in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital!

The skydive is being arranged by Skydive Ireland who will prepare and train all the jumpers before they hit the skies! The cost of the dive has already been covered by Eoin, so every cent of donations will go directly to Temple Street. It is a fantastic cause, and any support would be greatly appreciated.

Please consider making a donation through mycharity.ie as this money will get to the charity quickly and safely. Or else feel free to nab Eoin at a gig where he will be carrying a sponsorship card at all times!

AMP Sound Systems would like to wish Eoin the very best as he falls from the sky, and would like to sincerely thank everyone who makes a donation!

Not even Santa could deliver something this cool!

Even with so many shows cancelled due to the unprecedented weather conditions lately, we still managed to get our brand new DiGiCo SD9 out on a few gigs before we wrapped up for Christmas. Words can’t describe it – so here is a few thousand words (aka pictures) of it doing it’s biz! We just can’t wait to take it out again in the first week of 2011!

Happy Christmas!

AMP Sound Systems would like to wish all our clients and colleagues the happiest of Christmases and would like to sincerely thank you all for the support this year. We really enjoyed the amazing shows we had the pleasure of working on this year!

And we hope that your New Year brings more great shows, talented casts, great musicians and most importantly - great craic! We look forward to being behind the mixing desk for you again in 2011.

Brand new DiGiCo SD9 in stock!

AMP Sound Systems are delighted to announce that we now have one of the world’s leading digital mixing consoles in stock!

DiGiCo SD9When DiGiCo introduced the SD9 – a complete, integrated system, which includes the mixing surface, a D-Rack digital stage interface and CAT 5E digital multicore, with the additional ability to simultaneously record 56 channels – we were immediately interested.

After reviewing many other digital mixing solutions we quickly found that the DiGiCo SD9 ticked all the boxes.

DiGiCo SD9It’s functionality and feature’s gave us everything we needed for the continued pursuit of delivering the highest quality audio to our clients. The audio quality surpassed that of any other console we tested. The excellent sound quality of the SD9 was the main reason for us purchasing this desk. It’s ease of use let our engineers get straight to what they do best – mixing your show – rather than fighting through pages and menu’s. It’s small frame size and portability ensures that we do not need to increase prices to our customers in the form of extra staff or transport costs.

The excellent sound quality of the SD9 was the main reason for us purchasing this desk.

SD9 D-rackIt is planned that the SD9 will primarily go out to our musical theatre events as it is perfectly suited to the job. The neatness and aesthetics of the board lets it fit into your theatre without making too much of a visual impact or taking out too many audience seats. The well thought out snapshot features also help with complicated shows. However, this will not be it’s sole purpose. The board will be attending many other events and we also look forward to taking it out on a rock ‘n’ roll tour early next year.

AMP Sound Systems would like to sincerely thank James Lawford of DiGiCo for taking the hours of phone calls to ensure any question we may have had were answered. We would also like to thank Michael, Sean and Gerry from Rea Sound (the Irish distributors for DiGiCo) for allowing us to take the SD9 out for a demo and ensuring our purchase went without a hiccup.

The snow must go on…

The show must go on – even with all the snow! AMP Sound Systems are pleased to inform you that most of our operations are continuing as normal. Our vehicles are mobile, and we have access to our warehouse (although slightly limited). We have also received quite a few cancellations due to the bad weather.

This means that we have equipment and engineers available this week. If you have been let down by your sound company due to the adverse weather conditions, or are a sound hire company yourself and need us to cover one of your gigs, please do not hesitate to give us a ring on (01) 524 2720 and hopefully we will be able to help you out.

Thanks to Eoin at AMP Systems for providing a wonderful sound system for our party in Solas, Dublin. He braved a snow blizzard to get it out to us, so I really appreciate their dedication to their clients. He was always friendly, helpful, and flexible.

Thanks again!

All Ireland Champions arrive!

All Ireland Champions arrive!

The 2010 All Ireland Senior Ladies Champions returned to Na Fianna on Friday night to be greeted by over 1,000 people and a sound system supplied by AMP Sound Systems. An amazing evening was presented by Na Fianna GAA Club to welcome the girls home.

Dublin Team welcomed onto stage

Dublin Team welcomed onto stage

The Dublin team arrived in an open top bus to an adoring crowd. Marty Morrisy of RTÉ then gave them a warm welcome to the stage before interviewing some of the key players who enabled Dublin to take home the Brendan Martin Cup

.

Thousands cheer for the girls!

Thousands cheer for the girls!

We were always aware that it was going to be challenging to cover the entire sports field so every word could be heard. But with clever speaker placement, every member of the audience heard the inspiring speeches from the team.

Congratulations to the girls, and thanks to Na Fianna for hosting such a well organised event.
