Primary school show beats Broadway counterparts!

I had the amazing pleasure of doing the sound for St. Brigid’s School’s production of Mary Poppins and Aladdin! It ran for 2 nights in the Greystones Theatre. Usually these kids’ show are very samey, but this one blew me away!

My Introduction to Digital Mixing – The Yamaha 01V

12 Mono Inputs, Parametric EQ’s, racks of compressors, a few effects units…… and you can carry it all with one hand!

One of the best decisions in my whole career was to put a bid on a second hand 01v on adverts.ie. I paid under €300 for it, and on my way home got a call from someone desperately looking for a hand on a gig. It seemed simple – just a simple lack of expertise on their part and they got out of their depth.
