AMP Sound Systems continues it’s rapid expansion with the appointment of a new full time Account Executive – Brian Aston. Brian has been a valuable member of the AMP Sound team as a rigger and crew member for the past few years, and this knowledge of our equipment and dedication to customers makes him the perfect candidate to work closely with you to ensure all events go smoothly.

Brian will be taking care of all aspects of the small event sector, specifically catering for weddings, bands and various dry hire. Over the next few weeks, a series of new PA system packages will be released, giving great value for your events. Summer festivals continue with TKO at Arklow Seabreeze Festival

Summer festivals end with some sun!

Sunday the 12th of September meant an early start for the AMP Sound Systems crew! Just off from a late night at Darver Festival, we were in Phibsborough in Dublin for Phizzfest. AMP Sound Systems was subhired by The Sound & Music Co. to provide sound equipment and staff to the event.

The gig consisted of everything from rock to trad! The sun shone down all day – with the clouds only bursting as the case was put on the desk and the punters had gone home! It was a fabulous festival, and we hope to get the chance to work on it next year. Well done to all the organizers and thanks Vinny for putting the gig our way.

Now just for Vinny… The rig consisted of a centre-cluster of 4 x 600W DAP Subwoofers, 2 600W Mid-Highs and 3 EV sxA250′s for monitoring. FoH and wedges were mixed on a Yamaha LS9-16 by Eoin O’Grady.

Rain not enough to stop Darver Festival!

It may have been pouring rain on Saturday, but that did not stop us rigging a D&B line array and amplifying some great bands! Darver Intercultural Festival in Co. Louth brought acts and punters from all over the world to display their culture, crafts and music! Acts from Africa, Lithuania, Ireland and many more performed a small set before all the bands hopped up together for a big jam session!

The rig consisted of a groundstacked array of 4 D&B Q7′s on top of 2 QSubs on either side of the stage, with a centre cluster of Meyer HP600′s. FoH was mixed on a Yamaha M7CL. Wedges were a combination of D&B Max12′s and EV sxA250′s.

Luan Parle on Stage

The stage outside Wicklow Gaol rocked the town with the help of 4 subs from AMP Sound Systems. Luan Parle played a beautiful set as expected. Was thoroughly proud that our equipment shared a stage with Luan once again. An array of D&B Q1′s from Acoustik completed the rig.

The sun kept shining and made for a magical day!

Colm Mac Con Iompaire of The Frames

Violin and vocalist with The Frames, Colm Mac Con Iompaire got married this weekend – and AMP Sound Systems was there to provide the PA system. The music played until 2.40AM when things calmed down into an acoustic session. Notable guests included Glen and the rest of The Frames, Mundy and many others. The PA performed flawlessly and everyone had an amazing night.

Congratulations Colm, and we all wish you the very best in the future.
